Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located in the vicinity of the Kaixinling Coal Mine near the No.90 Highway Maintenance Squad of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. It was named by the Qinghai Petroleum Bureau in 1957. Contains a lower Gadikao Fm and an upper Zhageyong Fm)


Lithology and Thickness

Claystone and Limestone. Grey-green and grey sandy slate, thick-bedded limestone, intermediate volcanic rocks and gypsum layers. Thickness of 2351.6 m.

Lower contact

Unconformable contact with the underlying strata of upper Devonian
